Below is an example of a rather difficult to read record as an example of something that I am able to translate for you. The record is baptism from church records in Hessen Darmstadt in 1852. Church and civil records tend to be a standard format verses old letters written in Germany, but if you can describe or send a sample of what you have, I could quote you a price for translation. Philipp Günther geboren den dritten August acthzehnhundert zwei und fünfzig, heute den neunzehnten desselben Monates und Jahres durch den unterzeichneten evangl. Pfarrer nach den Gebräuchen in der evangl. Kirche getauft und in deren Gemeinschaft aufgenommen worden. Die Eltern dieses Kindes sind die zu Bechtheim wohnhaften Ehe und Ackersleute Philipp Günther und Barbara geb. Reichert. Taufzeuge war: Philipp Menger, Sohn von den zu Bechtheim wohnhaften Weber: Friedrich Jacob Menger. Having been recorded in the birth register for the community of Bechtheim, and approved by the mayor himself, Philipp Günther was born on the third of August eighteen hundred fifty two, and was today the nineteenth of the same month and year, by the
undersigned Evangelical Pastor in the Evangelical church baptized and christened. The parents of this child are the couple residing at Bechtheim, farmers Philipp Günther and Barbara (nee Reichert). The baptismal witnesses were: Philipp Menger, son of the weaver Friedrich Jacob Menger, residing at Bechtheim.
